Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation are required for the admission review. Within the online application, you will provide the email addresses for two contacts that you want to provide you a recommendation. Your recommenders will receive an online form to complete at the email address you provide for them. It is acceptable to have either professional or academic letters of recommendation. However, it is encouraged that candidates submit at least one academic letter of reference when possible.
The application for admission requires a statement of purpose (500-word essay) which should outline why you want to earn the MAEcon degree. There is additional space to add an optional personal essay. This essay can be used to explain circumstances of any part of your application where you feel the admissions committee might have concerns or provide additional information you feel the online application did not capture.
Non-U.S. candidates who do not hold a degree from a U.S. institution must submit a valid (two years old or less) test score demonstrating their command of the English language. The minimum score for the TOEFL is 100 (internet-based), and the institutional code for the Darla Moore School of Business is 5818. The minimum score for the IELTS is 7.0. Please make sure you select the University of South Carolina as a score recipient when taking the test.
