Eaton chairman and CEO Craig Arnold wins the 2024 Leadership Legacy Award

The Moore School will present the Center for Executive Succession’s 2024 Leadership Legacy Award to Craig Arnold, chairman and CEO of Eaton, a global intelligent power management company. Arnold will accept the award and participate in a ceremony on Oct. 28. The event will be held at 5 p.m. in Moore School room 101 and is open to USC students, faculty, staff and the public. Attendees must register in advance.

The Leadership Legacy Award recognizes a CEO who has personally invested time and effort in building a legacy of leadership talent in their organization while simultaneously achieving a long, successful track record of delivering financial, reputational and social performance. It is the only award of its kind that celebrates a CEO’s profound commitment to developing future C-suite leaders.

Arnold became Eaton chairman and CEO on June 1, 2016. He was appointed a member of the company’s board of directors and named Eaton’s president and COO on Sept. 1, 2015. Beginning his tenure with Eaton in 2000, Arnold has extensive expertise in global operations, leadership and strategic business development across multiple industries, stemming from his executive, management and operational experience.

Previously, Arnold worked at General Electric Co., where he served from 1999-2000 as corporate vice president and president of GE Lighting Services Ltd. He led the company’s lighting business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. He started his career with GE in 1983 and later served as corporate vice president and president of GE Plastics, Greater China and then of GE Appliances, Asia, from 1997 to 1999.

Currently, Arnold is lead board director for Medtronic Inc. and a member of the Business Roundtable, where he also serves on the group’s Special Committee for Racial Equity and Justice. He is a member of The Business Council and the advisory board of The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland and sits on the boards of Greater Cleveland Partnership and the United Way of Greater Cleveland.

Arnold holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
