Moore School Management associate professor Paul Bliese has been named to a short list of fellows for the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Of the organization's roughly 7,000 members, about 20 people are nominated for this honor each year.
"We have a number of fellows in our department for various organizations, which only reflects positively on what we're doing here," Bliese said. "It's really a nice way of recognizing the work we're doing in our respective areas."
SIOP is an organizational affiliate of the Association for Psychological Science. Its members work primarily in industrial and organizational psychology, which encompasses everything from studying job attitudes and motivations to facilitating organizational change. Bliese does a lot of work with data analysis tools for these types of topics in an attempt to make them "more understandable and accessible."
He joins a couple other Moore School management faculty members in earning this fellow status: Professor Robert Ployhart is also an SIOP fellow and professor Patrick Wright is a fellow of the Academy of Management. Bliese is also a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science.
Having several fellows within the Department of Management underscores the Moore School's worldwide No. 1 ranking for human resources research productivity, independently confirmed by Elsevier.
