Media Innovation Academy

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications Media Innovation Academy is an immersive summer experience with the look and feel of a professional conference. You’ll gain marketable 21st century skills that top media and innovation employers seek, so you’ll stand out in today’s competitive job market.

Coming summer 2021!

Session 1: June 1-18, 2021
Session 2: June 21-July 9, 2021

  • Dive deep into the field of digital media with access to world-class faculty and industry professionals from top brands.
  • Network with industry experts and engage in discussions with like-minded peers.
  • Attend keynote sessions with speakers from Adobe, IBM, Facebook, Google, Instagram, Snapchat, Ebay and more!
  • Choose up to two classes (six hours) per session for credit or non-credit. Course topics:

Social and Mobile Journalism
Augmented Reality
Social Media Analytics
Drone Filming
360 Video
Visualization Animation
Data Journalism

  • Earn up to 12 credit hours while you enjoy personal attention with small class sizes (limit of 20 students per class).

The media Innovation Academy is open to undergraduate students in any major and is not limited to current UofSC students.

Credit students: Summer school tuition per credit hour plus a $500 program fee per session.

Non-credit students: $1,900 per session plus a $500 program fee per session.

Housing and meal programs are available at an extra charge, handled separately.
