Each year the advertising team that creates the winning commercial is invited to campus to receive the coveted Cocky Award and share behind-the scenes stories in the making of the commercial. Read about the 2020 winner "Long live Mr. Peanut!"

The Class

One hundred students and faculty in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications gather in the school’s state-of-the-art multimedia room for Cocky's Super Ad Poll to watch the game and critique the lineup of Super Bowl commercials. They evaluate commercials on likability, persuasiveness and brand identity.

Bonnie Drewniany

Distinguished Professor Emerita Bonnie Drewniany, who has studied Super Bowl advertising for more than 20 years, teaches the Super Bowl of Advertising course. The course includes the annual Ad Poll and the Cocky Awards.
