About the Unit
Programs housed in this interdisciplinary unit expand the ability of the CIC to offer degrees that strengthen the workforce with critical skills such as working in teams for successful collaboration, analysis of information and communication problems and questions in society, and management in information and communication contexts to transform personal and public livelihood.
Information and Communication Studies focuses on the comprehensive exploration of information and communication, bridging the gap between traditional disciplines. Students in this unit will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of topics, including interpersonal, group, and intercultural communication; theories of information and communication; critical thinking and persuasion; data analysis and communication; digital media; and the effects of mass media on society.
This unit is designed to provide students with the critical skills needed in today's workforce, such as effective collaboration, analysis of complex information and communication issues, and the ability to manage and transform information in various contexts.
