College of Information and Communications

Centennial Celebration

The School of Journalism and Mass Communications turned 100 years old in 2023, and alumni and friends joined faculty, staff and students in celebrating how far we've come and where we plan to go in the future.  One of the highlights was a visit by Bob Woodward who spoke at the 2024 Buchheit Family Lecture about his experiences over the past 50-plus years as a reporter and what he sees for the future of journalism.

Events

The centennial offered us an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of our alumni, our students and our faculty. The school has provided unparalleled journalism education for 100 years and will continue to do so for 100 years to come.

 — Tom Reichert, dean of the College of Information and Communications
