Background

Cynthia Richardson Johnson is a South Carolina native with 18 years of teaching experience in K12 public schools as a reading specialist, English teacher and school librarian.  She is a member of the American Association of School Librarians , SC Association of School Librarians  and the American Library Association. She has presented at the 2017 AASL conference, 2018 ASCD conference and 2018 FETC conference on Makerspaces and Computational Thinking in the School Library.


Research Interests

racial and social inequities in school libraries, library programming in K12 schools


Teaching

As the instructor of SLIS 720, Johnson incorporates practical and applicable strategies for students to create an effective K12 school library program.
