Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

The School of Library and Information Science offers departmental scholarships for new and continuing students. This list does not include scholarships awarded by the University. 

Dean's Freshmen Scholarship

The Information Science program offers a number of scholarships for exceptional freshmen through the Dean's Scholars program. Among the criteria considered for these awards are SAT scores, high school grade point average and extracurricular activities. Dean's Freshmen Scholars are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve and for their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. The Dean’s Freshmen Scholarships are not renewable. Deadline to apply is April 15.

Dewey Decimal Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in Information Science who has demonstrated financial need and a record of academic excellence as determined by the Information Science Undergraduate Committee.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be enrolled for the upcoming semester in at least 12 credit hours and have applied for financial aid for that semester. They must also display outstanding past academic performance as documented by their cumulative high school GPA or cumulative undergraduate GPA, SAT or ACT scores, and other relevant factors. This is a one-year scholarship.The deadline to apply for this scholarship has closed for the 2018-2019 academic year.
