Moore School adds eight international partnerships to exchange programs

August 22, 2016

The Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, has announced eight new international business programs in partnership with leading business schools worldwide.

These new programs will allow undergraduate and graduate students to pursue educational opportunities with universities in France, Germany, China, Singapore, Egypt, Russia, Brazil, Finland, Taiwan and Peru in order to further develop their international business competencies and global agility.

Three undergraduate programs starting this September, referred to as cohort programs, have Moore School students joining students from partner schools, whereby they then study as a group on each campus. The first is with American University in Cairo and has an Arabic language and business in the Middle East focus. The second is with Paris Dauphine University and is designed for international business finance and economics majors. Both of these programs have students studying at least two semesters on each campus.

The third program is in collaboration with three partners, the University of Mannheim, ESSEC Business School-Singapore campus, and FGV's Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) in Rio de Janeiro. A cohort of forty students will study at each institution for one semester. The program includes experiential-based projects across locations.

Three Master in International Business dual-degree graduate programs are also being added, one with Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China; the second with National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. The third focuses on international business and design thinking, in collaboration with Aalto University, located in Helsinki, Finland. Aalto is one of the world’s leading institutions integrating design, technology, and business for creative solutions to complex problems and challenges.

Finally, two executive-level programs are being added to the Moore School’s No.1-ranked International MBA program, one beginning this autumn and the second beginning in the autumn of 2017. The first program is through a partnership with National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei; the second is with ESAN Graduate School of Business in Lima, Peru.

Kendall Roth, senior associate dean of International Programs and Partnerships, says, “Although the Moore School already has study abroad and collaborative international programs with more than 60 elite business schools on six continents, we are constantly striving to develop additional unique and creative international learning opportunities for our students. This kind of exposure to new cultures and institutional settings, economic and sociopolitical systems, and mindsets is pivotal in the development of our students.

Furrthermore, collaborations with exceptional partners allows us to achieve educational and learning experiences that neither partner could do on their own."
