Alumnus and former business editor Kenneth W. Baldwin, Jr. (B.A., 1949) believes today’s
journalists must be business savvy if they are to report on the critical financial
issues that impact readers. That’s why he’s enhancing their education through three
generous gifts to the School of Journalism and Mass Communications totaling more than
$2 million.
From the outset the Baldwin Fund has had journalists with extensive national experience
in business and financial journalism teaching the basics and sharing the background
of their wealth of knowledge with students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Students also hear from professionals in the field, including guest lecturers, and
recruiters for national media. This has led to both internships and full-time employment
with the Wall Street Journal and thestreet.com.
