Responsibilities

Carol Kirkland joined the College of Information and Communications in 2022. As lead of External Relations and Partnerships, she plays a key role in developing and achieving the strategic initiatives of the dean, along with managing external partnerships through leadership, program development, sponsorships and collaborations.

Background

Kirkland brings 20 years of experience in private sector and non-profit program development and fund raising. She has held leadership roles in organizational and territory management, marketing campaigns, communications, donor relations, special events, and teaching various women’s leadership topics.

Teaching

Co-developer of curriculum and adjunct professor for the course Leadership Essentials for Women, Columbia International University, Columbia, SC 2018-2021.

Director of the Women’s Leadership Program, CIU 2019 and 2021 academic year

Personal

Kirkland loves spending time with her husband, son and daughter, and two Boykin Spaniels. She also enjoys traveling and serving in women’s leadership and ministry areas.
