The School of Journalism and Mass Communications is seeking two full-time instructors to join the faculty in January 2023.
Broadcast Journalism
Applicants for a professional-track faculty position at the instructor level in broadcast journalism to begin January 1, 2023, are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and preparing undergraduate students for the professional work of television news.
Job Summary:
This position will teach, coach and mentor as part of a faculty team assigned to the
School’s “senior semester” newsroom capstone courses that produce a daily award-winning
half-hour television newscast and maintains a news website featuring student-produced
work. Duties may also include teaching in other multimedia courses. Participation
in faculty governance and professional service activities is expected.
The teaching load is four classes per semester. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position.

Visual Communications
Applicants for a professional-track faculty position in the Visual Communications major at the instructor level to begin January 1, 2023, are encouraged to apply.
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will augment instruction in our Visual Communications major in
the areas of photography and video for online, editorial, and commercial applications.
The successful candidate will have teaching experience or demonstrate aptitude for
teaching undergraduate courses, including Principles of Visual Communication, Video
for Visual Communications, Multimedia for Visual Communications (encompasses intermediate
photography and video), Studio and Location Lighting, and the capstone portfolio course.
Participation in faculty governance and professional service activities is expected.
The teaching load is four classes per semester. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position.
