Shana Watson spent four years teaching first grade in Orangeburg and Richland county school districts where she was nominated for 2017-2018 teacher of the year.
Watson is an instructor for the University 101 Program and teaches University 101 . Watson is also an adjunct instructor for the School of Information Science and teaches Storytelling: Theory, Practice, and Development.

Watson is currently working on a doctorate in Education System Improvements at UofSC. In her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga, true crime podcasts and documentaries. Watson lives in Columbia with her daughter and two dogs Boss and Phoebe.
