Background
Deontré McCray is a strategic communicator and scholar exploring how public media can better serve, engage and reflect today’s diverse, multigenerational audiences. His research focuses on the evolving relationship between technology, storytelling and trust, particularly in communities that have been historically underrepresented.
As a doctoral student, he brings a people-centered, data-informed lens to his work, always asking the questions that yield space for empathy, advocacy and change.
A native of the Lowcountry, Deontre’ brings faith and resilience into everything he does. Outside of academia, he finds joy in cooking, binge-watching and embracing the art of a good playlist.
