As an undergraduate academic advisor, Sabrina McClure supports students in their first years at the University of South Carolina navigating university resources, developing student course plans, and encouraging engagement.  She believes it is important for students to develop meaning in their educational experiences while building relationships and networking to support their career goals.  

Awards

McClure won USC's 2023 Award for Commitment to Advising Excellence!  Her 'Teach Them To Fish' philosophy of advising helps prepare her students to take control of their own academic lives.  She strikes a balance between strategic short-term support and long-term questioning and empowerment that helps her students now -- and helps them later, too.  

Personal

McClure has worked at USC since 2014, serving students in a variety of programs. She loves staying home and watching tv, listening to a podcast or good music playlist and getting out to try new restaurants with friends!
