Design a custom plan of study based on your interests and goals, or to enhance your professional competitiveness. Elective courses are offered in multiple formats and allow students to gain greater functional knowledge in a specific area of business. Some electives are offered in the immersion format, providing students the ability to have face-to-face instruction with the professor and network with students from around the region.
Elective credits may be used to complete a concentration or graduate certificate. Areas of concentration include international business, finance, innovation/entrepreneurship or marketing. A graduate certificate in business analytics is also available and designed to complement the program's curriculum while expanding career opportunities. Optional short-term study abroad experiences are offered yearly as immersion electives.
Immersion Days are the official kickoff to the USC Professional MBA program — and one of the most defining experiences of your MBA journey.
Held twice per year, Immersion Days bring your cohort together on campus for an intensive, high-impact weekend that blends academic rigor, relationship-building, and real-world application. From the moment you arrive, you’re not just preparing for the PMBA — you’re fully immersed in it.
This three-day, in-person experience sets the tone for the program, helping you build momentum, confidence, and connections that last well beyond the weekend.
Course Sequences
Students starting the PMBA program in the Spring I or Fall I terms are encouraged to follow the recommended course sequence. The sequence is designed to provide the basic quantitative foundation necessary to be successful in the rest of the courses.
