Sriram Venkataraman is an associate professor in the Department of Management Science at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. He holds a doctoral degree from Clemson University, master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Alabama and a bachelor's degree from the University of Mumbai, India. As a doctoral student, he worked on a research project funded by Health Sciences South Carolina. He has professional experience with SAS Institute as a graduate industrial trainee and as a research associate with Netscribes (India) Pvt. Ltd.
His primary research interests are in service operations (including healthcare, banking, and retail operations), sustainability and new product development. His research problems utilize a wide range of empirical methods, including structural estimation, reduced form estimation, advanced frontier estimation techniques and game theory. His work has appeared in journals such as Manufacturing & Services Operations Management, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, and Quality Management Journal. He is a senior editor for Production and Operations Management, an associate editor for Service Science, and he serves on the editorial review boards of Journal of Operations Management and Quality Management Journal.
