Marcelo Frias has served as director of doctoral programs since spring of 2018. In this role, he is responsible for doctoral programs operation, execution and support of ongoing strategic development, as well as oversight of recruiting and enrollment management and student services. He also oversees operations for various international dual-degree doctoral programs.
He first joined the Moore School in 2009 as director of recruitment for graduate programs and later served as director of recruitment and market strategy for full-time MBA programs. From 2014 to 2018, he served as managing director of full-time MBA programs, overseeing programs operation, execution and ongoing strategic development as well as domestic and international MBA admissions. In this capacity, he also led the design, implementation, and operation of international immersion programs for the International MBA in Mexico, France, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Spain and China.
Prior to joining the Moore School, Marcelo worked in private sector organizations in the citrus, metals, and coffee and spices industries. Throughout his career, he has focused in diverse business areas, including import/exports, market entry strategy, business analysis, global supply chain management, marketing, and commodities trading and has worked in Mexico, France, and the United States.
Marcelo is a native of Mexico, where he earned his undergraduate degree in international business from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He earned his International MBA degree with a specialization in marketing and a focus in French from the Darla Moore School of Business.
