Yan Dong joined the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina
in 2014. He also taught at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland
and the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He holds a Ph.D. in
Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Maryland and has taught
supply chain management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He worked as
a supply chain management consultant for IBM and the World Bank.
Dong’s primary research interest is in supply chain management with a focus on supply chain governance and relationship. His recent work studies product and service failure and recovery in supply chains, supply chain collaboration, global supply chains and outsourcing, and other topics in the marketing-operations interface. He has published in Management Science, Marketing Science, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Transportation Research and Journal of Business Logistics.
