Tanya Barton is the Juvenile Justice Project Coordinator for the Children’s Law Center’s Juvenile Justice Team. Tanya coordinates juvenile justice projects and provides training and technical assistance to juvenile justice professionals and other child-serving providers on best practices and interventions designed to improve outcomes for South Carolina’s at-risk youth and youth involved with the juvenile justice system. Tanya’s work experience includes managing a Supportive Case Management program in Upstate New York for older youth and adults who live with severe and persistent mental illness. Before joining the Children’s Law Center, Tanya worked for the South Carolina Continuum of Care, serving youth and families with some of the most complex and challenging behavioral and emotional health care needs. In 2016, Tanya was the first person in South Carolina to receive the National Wraparound Implementation Center’s (NWIC) Certification to coach and train the High-Fidelity Wraparound model for the state. Tanya currently holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree and is working on her master’s degree in social work.
