Regina E. Wragg to compete in Miss Plus America
Regina E. Wragg was named the "People's Choice" winner in the Ms. South Carolina Plus America pageant and crowned Ms. Palmetto Pride 2017. Wragg is the Director of Assessment and Accreditation at the University of South Carolina's College of Education, as well as an alumna.
In July, she will travel to Texas to compete with women from across the country in the national Miss Plus America pageant.
The Miss Plus America Pageant celebrates the inner beauty of each contestant, as well as recognizes their commitment to their communities.
“Regina is an ideal candidate. We are proud to have her as a titleholder," says Leona J. Bonds, the pageant's executive director.
As Ms. Columbia Plus America 2017, Wragg has enjoyed the opportunity to further promote her platform - The National Council of Negro Women’s Four for the Future program.
"I chose this platform because as an educator and researcher, I recognize the impact
that encouraing STEM literacy, addressing health disparities and promoting positive
values can have on building families and communities," says Wragg.

Wragg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Master of Teaching degree in
Secondary Education, and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological Sciences. Prior
to working for her alma mater, Wragg was employed by the South Carolina Department
of Education as a Science Education Associate. She was also a teacher.
