Your Career
You will also have career options beyond the walls of a classroom. Other opportunities to have a positive impact on the lives of people with special needs abound, including physical and occupational therapy, assistive technology, counseling, special education leadership, and higher education research and teaching.
Of course, being a Special Education classroom teacher has its own rewards- the material reward having a specialized set of skills in an in-demand industry, as well as the emotional reward of making differences in the lives of people who might otherwise not have the same opportunities that many of us do.
