Background

Laura Nix Bishop is the recruitment coordinator in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management. In her role, Bishop assists the director of enrollment management and professional development with student recruitment and retention efforts, as well as student-focused professional development programs. Bishop coordinates the daily operations of the HRSM Welcome Center and regularly meets with prospective students and families. She also assists in advising the HRSM Leaders student organization and the HRSM Living Learning Community.

Prior to joining the College of HRSM, Bishop served as an academic advisor in the College of Engineering and Computing for three years. She was a graduate assistant in the USC Office of Undergraduate Admissions for two years and also worked for two years as an admissions counselor at Columbia College.

Bishop is a lifelong South Carolinian and currently lives in Columbia with her husband, Tyler, and their two dogs, Reid and Phoebe. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on the Gamecocks, listening to Taylor Swift, and binge-watching true crime shows.
