  • Karen Edwards, along with colleagues from UofSC and Deakin University presented, "Virtual Education Abroad: Prioritizing Accessibility and Sustainability," at the 17th annual FORUM on Education Abroad Conference — Evolution and Revolution: Solutions in Action.
  • Marketa Kubickova organized the industry panel discussion titled, "Hospitality Challenges of 2020 and Beyond!" and was the moderator for that session at the 2021 ICHRIE / SECSA Conference. Panelists included alumna Mamee Groves (Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management).
  • Miyoung Jeong was a panelist on the, "Future of Hospitality Research," at the 2021 ICHRIE / SECSA Conference.
  • Karen Edwards is a co-author of the article, “The benefits and pitfalls of contemporary pop-up shops,” recently published in Business Horizons.

  • Justin Game (B.S. Retail Management, 2013) was awarded his second Master’s Club Award for his success as a store manager with Sherwin-Williams. 
  • Rex Galloway (B.S. Hospitality Management, 1986) and Kary Galloway (B.A.I.S. Interdisciplinary Studies, 1986) were on BlackStream International Real Estate’s “Top Producers of 2020” list. 
  • Megan Pinckney (B.S. Fashion Merchandising, 2014) was featured in Vogue for her Charleston wedding to Todd Rutherford. 
  • Michael Gaines (B.S. Hospitality Management, 1997, M.I.H.T.M. International Hospitality and Tourism Management, 1999) was appointed by RVC Outdoor Destinations to be the general manager of Pigeon Forge Landing RV Resort.
