Faculty/Staff Notes

  • Sport and Entertainment Management Ph.D. student Misun Won received an NASSM Doctoral Grant for her research on partitioned pricing and cause-related fees for sporting events. Hers was one of only three funded projects.
  • Alumnus Mike Boykin and faculty members Danny Morrison and Susan O’Malley were featured guests at a Charlotte Sports + Business forum on the opening of sports after COVID-19.
  • Robin DiPietro and Charles Partlow organized and led two industry panels for students entering the job market during and after COVID-19.
  • Marketa Kubickova was elected to serve as the director of industry services for ICHRIE-SECSA federation.
  • Alumni Chad Dowdy, Olivia Hyatt, Rebecca Lino, Rasheed Muhammad, Keith Munns and Carmen Steiner took part in a panel organized by Tina Weaver,  Erica Lake, Katye Daley and Bryony Wardell on exploring non-traditional HRSM careers.
  • The HRSM Alumni Society board launched a new Facebook group for alumni and industry friends. New members are welcome!

  • Ashley-Morgan Alexander (B.S. Fashion Merchandising) started a new position as the global communications manager at Hillsong United Church in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. 
  • Andrea Golder (B.S. Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management) started a new position as a corporate recruiter for Nuvenra Pharma Services. 
  • Laura Pramstaller (M.S. Sport and Entertainment Management) was promoted to a new position as the senior director of partnership activation and client success at Litton Entertainment.

2010

  • Amy Ramage (M.I.H.T.M. Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Managment) started a new position as special project manager at The Alotian.
