  • Sporty Jeralds was named the 2019 Harry E. and Carmen S. Varney Distinguished Teacher of the Year.
  • Karen Edwards was named the Department of Retailing Teacher of the Year.
  • Jessica Chavis was named the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Teacher of the Year.
  • Fang Meng was named the 2019 Patricia G. Moody Researcher of the Year.
  • Stephanie Richards won the 2019 Staff Member of the Year award.
  • Richard Southall received the 2019 Brian J. and Linda L. Mihalik Global Scholar Award.
  • Mark S. Rosenbaum, Kathy (Kawon) Kim, Germán Contreras Ramirez, Augusto Rodríguez Orejuela, and Joohyung Park co-authored, “Improving Well-Being via Adaptive Reuse:  Transformative Repurposed Service Organizations,” which is forthcoming in the Service Industries Journal.
  • Kevin So published an article titled "Peer-to-peer accommodation services: Effects of psychological distances on guest loyalty" in the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management.
  • Marianne Bickle and Annette Burnsed published a new article, "Online Learning: examination of attributes that promote student satisfaction" in the Online Journal of Learning Administration. 
  • Kevin So co-authored "Platforms in the Peer-to-Peer Sharing Economy" in the Journal of Service Management, forthcoming special issue.

  • Casey Burton (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, 2012) started a new position as senior manager of sales at Topgolf in Washington, D.C.
  • Bryan Fillet (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, 2011) started a new position as an account executive with the Tennessee Titans.
  • Richard Bouknight (M.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, 2018) started a new position as director of operations at College of Charleston.
