- Brian and Linda Mihalik presented a refereed paper at the 2019 North American Society for Sport Management Conference in New Orleans. Their topic was "360 Virtual Reality's Impact on Olympic Legacy Venue Tourism."
- Lauren Ann Johnson (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, '12) started a new position as senior director of Global Partnerships, Strategy & Development at Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
- Alison Lindsey (B.S. Tourism Management, '17) started a new position as assistant front office manager at the Omni Parker House, the oldest hotel in America.
- Brittany Jones Brady (Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, '10), president and CEO at Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, has been named to the Pardee UNC Health Care Board of Directors. Read more about Brittany's new appointment.
- Aaron Henderson (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, '13) started as the executive director for the Sucherman Group.
- Cameron Moss (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, '07) has started a new position as lead consultant to the inaugural Druid City Music Festival. Read more about Cameron's new position.
- Blake Taylor (B.S. Retailing, '02) was named the “Outstanding Young Banker,” by the South Carolina Bankers Association.
- Lori Anna Varnadoe (M.S. Sport and Entertainment Management '11) and Lee Davis (Criminal Justice '01) were married on April 6, 2019, in Columbia, South Carolina. Lori Anna and Lee met on the front steps of the Osborne Administration Building when both were employed by the UofSC Division of Administration and Finance. The two continued to cross paths when Lori Anna sold tickets for the UofSC Athletic Ticket Office and Lee provided security during events.
- Christina Saragnese, CGMP (B.S. Hotel, Restaurant Tourism Management, '11) was inducted into the 2019-2020 SGMP (Society of Government Meeting Professionals) National Chapter Board.
- Frank Sullivan (B.S. Sport and Entertainment Management, '94) started a new position as vice president, ticket sales at GF Sports, LLC.
- Rachel Meeks (B.S. Retailing, '15) started a new position as assistant buyer at Nordstrom.
- William Dissen (Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, '06) gave a TedTalk on “Food Citizen: Changing the World one Plate at a Time.”
- Catherine Snyder (Hospitality Management, '18) accepted a position as the front desk manager at The Sinclair, an Autograph Collection by Marriott hotel set to open this fall in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.
- Emily Ruble (Retailing, '19) accepted a position in the Neiman Marcus Executive Development Program
