Academic program development consists of the creation and revision of degrees, majors, minors, undergraduate research tracks, academic certificates and concentrations.
University of South Carolina programs that lead to formal recognition including the awarding of all degrees and certificates must be reviewed and approved at appropriate levels of curriculum responsibility within the university, the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Academic Program Liaisons (APLs) serve as the main information resource on academic program actions and as the academic program liaison to the Provost’s Office for their respective units.
