The Columbia Faculty Manual requires that “Each unit should publish a calendar of unit-specific deadlines and ensure that these deadlines are communicated to candidates well in advance.” The calendar linked below provides university-wide deadlines mandated by the Faculty Manual and the Office of the Provost.
New Deadline
Please note the new university-wide deadline for all professional-track faculty promotions of May 1. This deadline is in effect for the 2024-2025 academic year. Units may submit files prior to the May 1 deadline, but review will only begin when all files have been submitted.
Candidates will be notified of decisions in late summer 2025, with promotions effective August 16, 2025.
