About the Program

Join us for a journey into the fast-changing world of adaptive sports and those who are transforming the ways that people with disabilities live, work and play. This session will explore fundamental principles of adaptive sport and outdoor recreation, including: ADA compliance, adaptive outfitting concepts and risk management considerations.

Participants will learn :

  1. Identify key safety and effectiveness issues for use of outdoor recreation assistive technologies
  2. Identify how adaptive sports and outdoor recreation differ from therapeutic recreation
  3. Identify Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC), why they are needed, and how they are developed

About the Presenters

Joe Moore

Ten years after becoming an amputee, Joe Moore left a law career to share his love of an active outdoor recreation lifestyle with others. In 2011, Joe began a journey of training, education and exploration to become an adaptive sports and recreation industry leader.
