Accreditations

Our programs are held in high regard in their respective fields of study. Each program works hard to meet and exceed all the requirements of accreditation. 

M.D. Program 

The M.D. program is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and Association of American Medical Colleges.

 

Biomedical Sciences 

The biomedical sciences program is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and Association of American Medical Colleges.

 

Genetic Counseling

This program was awarded American Board of Genetic Counseling accreditation in 2000 and reaccreditation in 2006. Most recently, the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling re-accredited the program for the maximum eight year period, 2014-2022.

 

Nurse Anesthesia

The USC/PRMH Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA): 222 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60068; 847-655-1160. The program's next review by the COA is scheduled for October 2019.

 

Physician Assistant

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia Physician Assistant Program sponsored by University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia.  Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be June 2031. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.  The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website.

 

Rehabilitation Counseling

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Counseling and Rehabilitation degree, with a specialization in clinical rehabilitation counseling, is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) for a full eight-year period through March 2029.
