Equipment and Services

The IRF houses more than 50 pieces of state-of-the-art, biotechnological equipment to fully support the research and teaching mission of all University of South Carolina campuses.

Service Areas

  • Histology
  • Confocal Imaging
  • Electron Microscopy
  • Flow Cytometry / Cell Sorting
  • Biofabrication
  • Instrument Training
  • Poster Printing (The IRF prints for Internal USC SOM Research faculty and students only.)

Instrument Training

There are several avenues for individuals to be trained in the IRF. The most direct method is to schedule time with the appropriate staff member for an individual training. Please remember that all staff members have a number of responsibilities and handle requests in the order they were submitted. Expect wait times to average one week. The second method for in-depth training is to register for one of the IRF’s courses.
