Seven School of Medicine students were selected to present their research at the 2017 South Carolina Medical Association conference in Charleston May 4-7: Abbye Clark (M2), Anita Samuel (M2), Parker Freels (M3), Elise Maggioncalda-Taylor (M3), Jim Papadea (M3), Anastasia Castillo (M2), Parth Thakker (M3)
Because only 20 student and resident researchers are invited to participate in the conference each year, being selected is a great honor and achievement. Third year medical student Parth Thakker, with research partners Dr. Lynn Thomas and Michael Tucker, was awarded first place for his study focusing on how to best prepare second year medical students for the USMLE Step 1 examination. Congratulations!
