Biography

Ms. Laura Shaver-Hast is the on campus clinical social worker for the School of Medicine Columbia campus.  From 2009 to present,  Ms. Shaver-Hast has worked in private practice treating children, adolescents and adults.  Prior to 2009, Ms. Shaver Hast worked for the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences where she assisted in developing their outpatient programs and served as Assistant Clinical Director for Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services. Additionally, she supervised and trained residents on treating and diagnosing children and family therapy.

Ms. Shaver-Hast began her career as a clinical social worker with the Department of Mental Health at William S Hall Psychiatric Institute on an adult acute inpatient unit and worked with DMH for 7 years.  She is married and has 2 adult children and has lived in Columbia South Carolina her whole life.
