Background
Katye Daley is a seasoned development, sales and hospitality professional with extensive experience in major gift fundraising, management and event planning. She rejoined the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina in July 2024 as director of development for corporate and foundation relations. Prior to her current role at HRSM, she served for several years as the national sales manager for Wild Dunes Resort, a Destination by Hyatt property, where she led the healthcare/pharmaceutical, education and food and beverage group sales markets. Her consultative sales approach and dedication to client service earned her the 2015 Destination Hotels "Rising Star" award and consistent recognition within the company.
From 2019 to 2022, Daley was HRSM's director of development. She successfully led strategic fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, corporate partnerships and annual giving. Her efforts notably increased the college's fundraising totals, even during the challenging post-pandemic period, and she played a key role in managing endowments and scholarships.
Her educational background includes a degree in English with a minor in political science from the University of South Carolina. Daley has also completed various professional development programs, including Advancement Resources Training, Delta Plus Training and Doug Kennedy Sales Training. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is evident in her participation in leadership and sales training initiatives.
In addition to her professional achievements, Daley has worked in corporate sales roles at DoubleTree by Hilton and Comfort Suites, as well as in PAC Fundraising at CapTel.
Daley lives in Charleston, South Carolina, where she enjoys spending time on the water with her husband, John, a USC graduate and fellow avid Gamecock fan, and two young children, James, and Charlie.
