Biography

Lorain Junor is a research specialist in the IRF. She received her B.S. in applied biology in Glasgow, Scotland before moving to the United States in 1999. She began working at the USC School of Medicine Columbia in 2003 where she was employed in the Animal Research Facility (ARF). She then performed research in numerous cardiovascular and neuroscience labs before joining the IRF in 2016. Lorain’s areas of expertise could be classified as the entire IRF, but she is the primary resource for small animal imaging, molecular analysis, live cell imaging, AMIRA, and the X-Clarity clearing system. She also assists in the applied biotechnology courses, specifically teaching the lab portion of MCBA 741 and 743. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her grandchildren. Lorain is happy to help with whatever she can in the IRF!
