Biography

Cameron Holbrook has been the Coordinator of the SOMC Student Success and Wellness Center since 2021 and works as a Learning Specialist.

Prior to his coming to the University of South Carolina, he had over 36 years in the field of Education as a Teacher and College Administrator.  He helped to construct, and taught in, the nationally acclaimed Highly Academically Gifted program in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.  He helped in the creation of learning modules with the Chemical Education for Public Understanding (CEPUP) project with the University of California at Berkeley.  He also helped to author the textbook Issues, Evidence, and You and the lab-oriented series “Project Earth Science.”

When not teaching and working with students, he loves to spend time with his family, visit battlefields and historic sites, seek out antiques and great “off the beaten path” restaurants.
