What drew you to the field of medicine?
I was first drawn to medicine after my grandfather was diagnosed with lymphoma. I attended many of his appointments at the hospital, where I was able to see how doctors cared for their patients, encouraging them through difficult diagnoses and guiding them through a treatment plan. Years later, I traveled to Iquitos, Peru, on a mission trip. Here, I saw the immense need of the children and families in the city, and I knew that I wanted to use my gifts and education to serve those in need.
What are your future plans?
Through the Accelerated Undergraduate to MD , I plan to complete my undergraduate degree and medical school in seven years. Eventually, I would love to travel to an impoverished country, where I can work in a hospital and serve the local community.
