Kevin L. Hennessee, building and grounds supervisor, has been named the recipient of the 2019 William C. Gillespie Staff Recognition Award. 

Named after William Gillespie, a former employee in the School of Medicine’s administration and finance office, the award recognizes an outstanding staff member at the School of Medicine whose work performance stands out as an example for all to emulate. A committee of peer staff members from clinical, research, and administrative areas selected Kevin as this year’s recipient.

Hennessee joined the School of Medicine in 2008. He has been tireless in his efforts to maintain the extensive grounds at both the VA and Medical Park campuses. The grounds are the first impression of the School of Medicine for our visitors, prospective students, and staff members. Hennessee always goes above and beyond to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and staff. He greets everyone cheerfully, whether it is 100 degrees or pouring rain. He is very deserving as this year’s recipient of the William C. Gillespie Staff Recognition Award.

Hennessee will receive the award at the 2019 Alumni Awards and Dean’s Awards Dinner on Friday, Oct. 4.
