Alyssa Yancey has been appointed as the Communications Manager for the School of Medicine, effective July 17, 2017. As an employee of the USC Office of Communications and Public Affairs, Yancey provides leadership on communications and branding strategy for the School of Medicine.

Yancey has more than ten years of experience in the communications industry. Most recently, she served as a marketing account executive with Wise Health System in Decatur, Texas. Before joining the marketing team at Wise Health System, she worked in the Division of University Relations, Communications and Marketing at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She holds a Masters of Journalism in Strategic Communications from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina. She also is an alumna of the USC Honors College.

Yancey is excited to return to the University of South Carolina, after working in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for most of the last decade. She, her husband Steven and their son moved back to South Carolina earlier this year to be closer to their extended family.
