Dr. Al-Hasan graduated from the faculty of medicine at the University of Jordan in 2000 and received Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Kentucky in 2005. He then moved to Minnesota where he received Infectious Disease fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic and Certificate of Clinical Research Training Program at Mayo Graduate School in 2008. He then joined the University of Kentucky as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Al-Hasan joined the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2013 as Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine.
Dr. Al-Hasan has established himself as a prominent figure in the fields of bloodstream infections and antimicrobial agents through his clinical research on the epidemiology, management and outcome of Gram-negative bloodstream infections, antimicrobial resistance trends and clinical therapeutics.He serves as a reviewer for several internal medicine, infectious diseases and clinical microbiology journals. He is also an editorial board member for the World Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Al-Hasan enjoys travelling, soccer and spending time with his family.
