Background
Professor Adams, a recognized expert on lawyer's ethics, has been a member of the Law School faculty since 1978, and his teaching and research interests include Professional Responsibility, Advanced Legal Profession, and Judicial Ethics. He is also the founding director of the Program on Judicial Ethics, Selection, Accountability, and Independence. Dr. Adams is lead coauthor of the South Carolina Corporate Practice Manual, and was one of the reporters for the South Carolina Business Corporation Act and the Reporter for the South Carolina adoption of Article 2A, Uniform Commercial Code. He serves as the Ethics Consultant for the South Carolina Association for Justice and has been a member of the South Carolina Bar Professional Responsibility Committee for many years. He writes a column, The Ethical Lawyer, for the Bulletin of the South Carolina Association for Justice and is a frequent speaker at Continuing Legal Education and Continuing Judicial Education Seminars for the South Carolina Bar, the USC Law School, and other organizations.
