As part of the Gamecock EdQuarters office, the College of Education graduate personnel work with you from the beginning of your graduate experience through your graduation. If you are having difficulty with the application process or need to submit additional documents, we are glad to assist you.
Programs of study for all graduate programs are filed with our graduate coordinators. Milestone completions like passing comprehensive exams or completing a dissertation defense are filed with Gamecock EdQuarters, and we notify the Graduate School of completion. We also assist with registration issues and requests for overrides into courses.
Primary career goals for students in the College of Education’s Ph.D. programs include teaching and conducting research in a college or university, working in higher education administrative positions, and/or conducting research in a variety of professional organizations.
Applying for an Educational Specialist degree shows a commitment to in-depth study in a specific area. All Educational Specialist programs require courses in research, as well as courses that focus on the subject area.
The M.S. and M.Ed. are not initial teacher certification programs. Students seeking their first teacher certification should consider one of our M.A.T or M.T. degrees. Many of these programs are designed for students seeking specific professional credentials or new areas of educator certification.
