Academic Advising

Level One

The Level One course is available to all academic advisors who have completed Advising Foundations. Advisors may be Level One certified after completing the online training component and experiential learning requirements.

Level One Experiential Learning

In order to complete Level One Certification, you must complete the Experiential component which includes the 5 items below: 

  • Have 50 academic advising appointments since beginning employment at USC
  • Use EAB Navigate with the majority/all of advisees to enter appointment notes
  • Use DegreeWorks to enter advised course schedule and/or relevant curriculum information
  • Complete the 'GPA Calculations' exercise

 

Level One Rewards

Advisors who successfully complete both components of Level One receive a Certificate of Completion and a reward of a one-year membership to the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
