3. The Carolina Core provides the common core of knowledge, skill and academic experience for all Carolina undergraduate students.
4. Supporting Courses (12 hours): Complete the required credit hours for each category below. 
   1. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (3 hours): Select 3 hours of the Diversity and Social Advocacy track of GLD

5. ISCI recommends SAEL 200, SPCH 145, or SPCH 230 for the CC-CMS requirement; course choice can affect whether a separate CC-VSR course is needed.
6. Students in the School of Information Science are required to demonstrate proficiency in one foreign language equivalent to the 121 course through course credit or placement score.
7. ISCI Electives (12 hours): select 12 credits from ISCI or JOUR, with no more than 6 credits from JOUR.

• All undergraduate students must take a 3-credit course or its equivalent with a passing grade that covers the founding documents. This course may fulfill any requirement in the program of study. Courses that meet this requirement are listed in the academic bulletin. 
• The last 30 credit hours toward the degree must be earned in residence at the University of South Carolina.
