This 2-part virtual workshop will give advisors a better understanding of the key components of the GLD ePortfolio, the culminating project for students earning Graduation with Leadership Distinction. Part One will focus on brainstorming meaningful within- and beyond-the-classroom experiences and major takeaways, called Key Insights. Part Two will focus on applying the key insights using solution-oriented problem-solving, which is the basis of the Leadership section of the GLD ePortfolio. Participants will learn about each part of the ePortfolio and practice with the same activities used in GLD student workshops.

This in-person workshop will focus on providing an overview of this exciting movement within the academic advising community called Appreciative Advising. The presentation is based on the book titled, The Appreciative Advising Revolution. The six phases of Appreciative Advising – Disarm, Discover, Dream, Design, Deliver, and Don't Settle – will be defined. Participants will not only learn what each phase means, but they will also have the opportunity to learn how to implement each of these phases.
