The Research Center for Transforming Health is now the USC School of Medicine Office of Research
In 2017, as part of the SOM’s strategic plan, resources were deployed to develop The Center for Transforming Health (RCTH). The RCTH served as a collaborative focal point to foster research engagement within and across disciplines at USC, as well as with our clinical partners, to support the development of SOM’s research portfolio, particularly in clinical and translational research. Through the RCTH, SOM grant and research support programs and services were developed or formalized to strengthen our research infrastructure. In late 2023, a new Senior Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Leonardo Bonilha was welcomed to the SOM and in 2024 the RCTH office transitioned its name to the SOM Office of Research to facilitate and enhance the visibility and improve funding for the activities that have been proven successful.
The SOM Office of Research is continuing the mission to strengthen people, programs, and infrastructure to support a culture of collaboration as well as programs to support research and our investigators.
