At certain times in your academic career you may want or need to be in an official state of major exploration. Explore the resources below to find out more about what it means to be Undeclared at USC. 

What does it mean to be "Undeclared" at USC?

Being an “undeclared” student at USC means that you are not yet enrolled in a specific degree-granting major. There are several reasons a student may be undeclared, the most common of which include:

  • Being undecided about academic path, career path, or both
  • Wanting to learn more about what majors are offered at USC
  • Trying to decide between a few majors of interest
  • Waiting until it is possible to move into a major of choice
