Program Events

Our program is uniquely positioned in an academic, research and medical school setting allowing for special curricular events outside of the classroom.

Students participate in several interprofessional conferences annually representing the Program's collaborations with multiple departments and colleges within our university as well as other regional genetic centers. Students have the opportunity to  participate in round tables with key note speakers, present their thesis research in poster presentations and interact with regional genetic professionals in case conference.

Fall Symposium

The University of South Carolina Genetic Counseling Fall Symposium is an annual event featuring presentations by genetics professionals from across the country. Our focus is building knowledge and skills as we incorporate clinical applications of genomic medicine. The 2019 Fall Symposium will be held October 11, 2019.

Special Lectures

Each year we take advantage of lectures on campus and in our region that enhance the education of genetic counselors.
